After having done well at reserve level for Walsall, Karl stepped up to make his senior debut when he came off the subs' bench for the final 20 minutes of the LDV Vans Trophy Second Round tie against Wigan Athletic and also featured in the next round against Stoke City.
A very promising lively front-runner, he joined the professional ranks in January 2001.
Karl joined Preston North End in July 2007 with a three-year contract.
He joined Notts County in August 2009 with a three-year contract.
Karl joined Scunthorpe United in September 2012 with a four-month contract.
