Charles had to wait until last March before he finally broke into the Brentford first-team squad and he featured regularly in the closing matches of the season. He is a pacy young striker and was mostly used by the Bees as a second-half substitute to run at opposition defences. Charles made his debut in international football in 2000-01 appearing for St Vincent against Honduras and Jamaica in World Cup qualifying matches.
