Josh Wright joined Scunthorpe United in July 2009 with a two-year contract.
He joined Millwall in November 2011 with a two-month contract that was extended to May 2012 in January 2012 and to June 2015 in May 2012.
After a loan spell, Josh joined Leyton Orient in January 2015 with a contract to June 2015.
His contract at Gillingham was extended to June 2016 in September 2015 and to June 2018 in June 2016 before it was cancelled in August 2017.
Playing for the Gills against his former club Scunthorpe United in League One on 11 March 2017, Josh became the first player to score a hat-trick of penalties in a Football League (or Premier League) game since Ken Barnes for Manchester City against Everton in League Division One on 7 December 1957.He joined Southend United in September 2017 with a contract to June 2018.
