Having topped the scoring charts in the Avon Insurance Combination in the 1999-2000 campaign, Jonas moved on to Second Division Cambridge United in the close season. He soon formed a useful partnership up front for the U's with Zema Abbey and featured regularly until being sidelined by knee ligament trouble in the new year. The injury required corrective surgery and he had yet to recover full fitness by the end of the campaign when he was released. He is an experienced right-footed striker with good mobility.
