Jon Stead signed a one-year extension to his Huddersfield Town contract in August 2002 that was set to keep him at the McAlpine Stadium until June 2005.
However, he joined Blackburn Rovers in February 2004 with a contract to June 2008.
Jon subsequently joined Sunderland in June 2005 with a four-year contract.
He joined Sheffield United in January 2007 with a contract to June 2010.
After a loan spell, Jon joined Ipswich Town in in September 2008 with a contract to June 2011.
He joined Bristol City in August 2010 with a three-year contract.
Jon re-joined Huddersfield Town in July 2013 with a two-year contract.
He joined Notts County in July 2015 with a two-year contract.
His Notts contract was extended to June 2019 in May 2018.
