The big Norwegian had a mixed start to the 2000-01 campaign with Nottingham Forest, heading home the winner in the opening game of the season against West Bromwich Albion.
He then fell victim to a hip injury that kept him out of action until February.
Jon-Olav returned for the home win against Grimsby Town and proceeded to put on some of his best defensive performances since joining the club.
A tall central defender who is strong in the air and solid on the ground, Jon-Olav returned to Nottingham Forest in August 2004 with a one-year contract.
His contract at Mansfield Town was extended to June 2007 in June 2006.
