Julian was taken on after playing in a friendly against Arsenal for Boston Town. Went on to become Arsenal's team captain. Member of the team which beat Medicos (of Bart's Hospital) to win the London Senior Cup on 7 March 1891. He went on to coach a number of teams in Holland including Maastricht and Feyenoord, together with his sons.
