25 appearances and a couple of goals for the young midfielder while at Exeter. John had a frustrating time in the 2000-01 season. Having spent some time battling back against a serious cruciate knee ligament injury his only first-team football came when he appeared as a substitute for the final 12 minutes of Exeter's game at Macclesfield last February. He is a wide midfield player able to play on either flank who has good skill on the ball and excellent vision.
