Having made his senior debut for Tottenham Hotspur in the 1999-2000 season, John continued to make steady progress in 2000-01 and added a further five appearances from the substitutes' bench in the closing stages of the campaign. A versatile midfield player, he is still something of a raw talent but is very quick and strong and has plenty of confidence.
John was forced to retire from senior football in November 2004 due to a stomach illness.
