PositionMidfielder

Oster had a somewhat frustrating season at Sunderland in 2000-01 and struggled to win a regular place in the first-team squad.

A clever ball-playing winger, he opened his goal-scoring account for the Black Cats in the Worthington Cup tie against Luton Town, but always struggled to dislodge Kevin Kilbane or Julio Arca from the Wearsiders' line-up.

Oster's contract at Sunderland was extended to June 2006 in June 2004 but it was cancelled in January 2005. He then joined Burnley with a contract to the end of the 2004-05 season.

Oster joined Reading in August 2005 with a one-year contract that was extended to June 2007 in July 2006, then to June 2008 in January 2007.

He joined Crystal Palace in August 2008 with a six-month contract that was extended to the end of the season in January 2009.

Oster's contract at Doncaster Rovers was extended to June 2010 in January 2010 and to June 2012 in June 2010.
