Mullin spent much of the 2000-01 campaign on the subs' bench for Burnley and only made the starting line-up occasionally.
He was most often seen in an attacking midfield role from where his foraging runs often troubled opposition defences, but was also occasionally used as a striker and never let the side down when called upon.
He scored what proved to be the winner at Queens Park Rangers just four minutes after coming off the bench.
Mullin signed a new two-year contract at Rotherham United in May 2004.
He joined Tranmere Rovers in July 2006 in a two-year deal.
Mullin joined Accrinton Stanley in August 2008 with a one-year contract.
