Hodges was signed by Plymouth Argyle during the 2000 close season with the aim of providing regular keeper Jon Sheffield with some competition. He made his debut for the Pilgrims at Brighton in October and enjoyed a brief run in the team before losing his place following the FA Cup defeat by Conference outfit Chester City. Shortly afterwards Romain Larrieu arrived at Home Park and Hodges was released.
