After making a big impression in his first season at Cambridge United, John struggled to find his best form last term and after failing to establish himself as a regular in the team he was placed on the transfer list. An attacking left-sided midfield player his only goal of the campaign provided the U's with the winner in their FA Cup first round tie against Rochdale.
