A member of Arsenal's 2000 FA Youth Cup winning side, the right-back's three sub appearances in the League Cup preceded his move to Stoke City.

After a loan spell, John joined Stoke City in December 2003 with a contract up to June 2006.

John joined Reading in January 2006 with a contract to June 2008.

He joined Aldershot Town in July 2009 with a two-year contract.

He joined Wycombe Wanderers in July 2011 with a one-year contract.
