John Curtis

Date of birth03 September 1978
Place of birthNuneaton
NationalityEnglish
Weight74 kg
Height1.78 m
PositionDefender

A brilliant defender at youth level, John failed to progress at United as Gary Neville was simply too good.

Having joined Blackburn Rovers, John settled in quickly at Ewood Park and went on to be an ever-present for Rovers in First Division games in 2000-01.

Although happy to play right back he also settled easily into the role of right-sided player in a back three.

Dependable, quick in the tackle and constructive with his use of the ball, he was a manager's dream, producing quality displays week-in, week-out.

John joined Portsmouth in February 2004 with a contract to June 2005 before joining Nottingham Forest in February 2005 with a contract to the end of the season.

This was extended to June 2007 in August 2005.

John was made available for transfer by Queens Park Rangers in November 2007.

He joined Northampton Town in July 2009 with a one-year contract.
