At 15 years and 287 days, John Bostock became Crystal Palace's youngest-ever player when he made his debut against Watford on 29 October 2007.

The previous record holder was Phil Hoadley who was 16 years and 112 days when he made his Palace bow against Bolton Wanderers on 27 April 1968.

At 16 years and 295 days, John became the youngest-ever player to appear for Tottenham Hotspur in a competitive game when he came on as a substitute against Dinamo Zagreb in a UEFA Cup game at White Hart Lane on 6 November 2008.

The previous record holder was Ally Dick who was 16 years and 301 days when he made his Spurs debut against Manchester City in the First Division on 20 February 1982.

John's contract at Tottenham Hotspur was extended to June 2013 in August 2010.
