Joe Davis is the son of former Crewe Alexandra, Burnley and Barnsley defender and subsequent Crewe Alexandra manager, Steve Davis.
His contract at Port Vale was extended to June 2014 in June 2012.
He re-joined Port Vale in July 2017 with a two-year contract.
