Full name is: Joaquín Sánchez Rodríguez.
An attacking midfielder often compared to England's Joe Cole, Joaquin is a product of the Real Betis youth system and has been in the first team since 2000-01.
Seen as one for the future when he made his international debut in February 2002 against Portugal.
In only his fifth international appearance, Joaquin performed superbly in the 2002 World Cup quarter final against the Korea Republic but missed the crucial penalty in the shoot-out that ended Spain's hopes.
