Jerry Gill had his best season to date for Birmingham City in 2000-01, seeing off the challenge of a string of on-loan right backs to retain his place.
He acted with dignity after being left out of the Worthington Cup final team and this helped cement his reputation as a huge crowd favourite.
Always dogged in the tackle and wholly committed to the cause, Jerry formed an effective partnership with Nicky Eaden down the right-hand side and went on to play some of the best football of his career.
Jerry was released by Northampton Town at the end of his contract in December 2003.
He joined Cheltenham Town in February 2004 on non-contract terms.
His Robins contract was extended to June 2008 in May 2007 then to June 2009 in June 2008.
Jerry was made available for transfer by Cheltenham Town in September 2008.
