Jeff Minton

Minton passed the 250 appearance mark at club level. Minton never really seemed to settle at Port Vale last season despite scoring a superb goal from 25 yards out in the Worthington Cup first round second leg tie at Chesterfield in September. He had a short spell out due to suspension and was then dropped in the new year before moving on to join Second Division promotion candidates Rotherham United as cover for the suspended Stewart Talbot. He could hardly have made a more dramatic entrance at Millmoor scoring two goals and making the other in a 3-0 win over Bristol Rovers on his debut. Minton is a talented midfield player with good passing skills who loves to push forward. Having joined the Millers on a short-term contract until the end of the campaign, he moved on to Leyton Orient in the summer. However, he went on the London club's transfer list in February 2002.
