After being ruled out of England's Euro 2000 campaign through injury, Jason missed the start of the 2000-01 season while still recuperating.
He eventually made the Leeds United first-team squad for the game at Coventry City in September but, when on the verge of a run in the team, he broke his leg in training in Barcelona.
However, he made a quick return to fitness two months later and was part of the squad for much of the remainder of the campaign. He netted just one goal - a blistering volley in the 3-3 draw with Lazio.
An experienced winger, he gave the side an extra dimension with his play down the flank.
Jason joined Leicester City in July 2004 with a one-year contract that was extended to June 2006 in May 2005.
After a loan spell, Jason joined Blackpool in January 2006 with a contract to the end of the season.
