Southampton's 'Mr Reliable' and an automatic choice for the right-back position, Jason captained the Saints in 2000-01 when he was once again a key figure in the defence. Not the fastest of defenders he more than makes up for this with his excellent reading of the game. He took over penalty-taking duties from the injured Matt Le Tissier during the season with a certain amount of success. He received a well-deserved benefit match at the end of the campaign.
Jason joined Brighton & Hove Albion in July 2005 with a one-year contract.
