Jamie Cureton netted from a penalty kick for Bristol Rovers in the opening game of the 2000-01 season against AFC Bournemouth but was then sold to Reading for a substantial fee as the Royals acted quickly to replace the injured Nicky Forster.

The move proved a great success as he went on to forge a very productive partnership up front with Martin Butler and finished the campaign as joint-top scorer in the Second Division with Millwall's Neil Harris.

His tally included hat-tricks against Brentford and Luton Town, and a spell when he scored in six consecutive games, while he also netted the Royals' first goal in the Play-Off Final against Walsall.

Hard working, quick and elusive in the box his deadly finishing makes him almost the complete striker.

Jamie joined Queens Park Rangers in January 2004 with a contract to June 2005.

He then joined Swindon Town in a two-year deal and was made available for transfer in June 2006.

Jamie returned to Norwich City in June 2007 with a three-year contract.

His contract at Exeter City was extended to June 2011 in January 2011.

Jamie joined Leyton Orient in July 2011 with a one-year contract.

He joined Cheltenham Town in July 2013 with a one-year contract.

Jamie joined Dagenham & Redbridge in July 2014 with a one-year contract that was extended to June 2016 in May 2015.

He netted Dagenham & Redbridge's fourth hat-trick in the Football League in a League Two game against AFC Wimbledon on 6 April 2015 at the age of 39 years and 222 days.

The veteran striker had netted his last threesome exactly eight years to the day earlier (6 April 2007) for Colchester United in a 3-0 win at Southend United in the League Championship.

Kevin Phillips was one day older (39 years and 223 days) when he recorded the last hat-trick of his career for Crystal Palace against Hull City in the League Championship on 5 March 2013.
