Cook featured in a handful of early season games in 2000-01 for Oxford United and scored the winner at Bury to give the Us their first win of the campaign.

However, he then fell out of favour following a change in management and was released by new boss David Kemp.

He subsequently had a brief trial at Darlington before joining Boston United along with the Weatherstone brothers.

He featured regularly for the Conference club in the closing matches and netted two goals in the 5-3 victory over Hereford United on the last day of the season.

Cook was made available for transfer by Oxford United in May 2010 before his contract was cancelled shortly afterwards.
