On his Everton debut, James Vaughan became the Premier League's youngest goalscorer when he netted Everton's fourth goal in their 4-0 defeat of Crystal Palace on 10 April 2005 at the age of 16 years 270 days.
The record was held by James Milner when he scored for Leeds United at Sunderland on 26 December 2002 when he was 16 and 357 days old
The England Under-17 striker also became Everton's youngest-ever player to make a league appearance beating the record held by Joe Royle who made his debut against Blackpool on 15 January 1966 at the age of 16 years 282 days.
James' contract at Everton was extended to June 2011 in May 2007.
He joined Norwich City in May 2011 with a three-year contract.
After a loan spell, James joined Huddersfield Town in July 2013 with a three-year contract.
After a loan spell, he joined Birmingham City in July 2016 with a one-year contract.
James joined Bury in August 2016 with a two-year contract.
He joined Sunderland in July 2017 with a two-year contract.
James joined Wigan Athletic in January 2018 with a contract to June 2019.
