James Beattie
| Date of birth | 27 February 1978 |
| Place of birth | Lancaster |
| Nationality | English |
| Weight | 76 kg |
| Height | 1.85 m |
| Position | Forward |
Having endured a nightmare time with injuries and loss of form, James bounced back in 2000-01 in fine style.
He hit a rich vein of form, especially in the autumn, when he netted ten goals in a run of ten games to win the 'Carling Player of the Month' for December.
His exploits included a dramatic 25-yard free-kick in the 3-2 win over Chelsea and a stunning 40-yard effort at Sunderland.
A powerfully built striker, he is very effective in the air, packs a powerful shot and links well with his partner up front Marian Pahars.
James joined Everton in January 2005 with a contract to June 2009.
He joined Stoke City in January 2009 with a contract to June 2011.
James' contract at Sheffield United was extended to June 2012 in January 2012.
His contract at Accrington Stanley was extended to June 2013 in January 2013.
