One of several youngsters to graduate from Luton Town's youth scheme in recent seasons James was loaned to Stevenage Borough last September to gain some valuable experience of first-team football. On his return he featured for the Hatters in the LDV Vans Trophy tie at Peterborough but this was his only senior appearance of the campaign and he was released shortly afterwards. A strong and forceful central defender he later had a brief spell with Dagenham & Redbridge before joining Kettering Town.
