Another vastly experienced defender in the Belgian World Cup squad, Jacky made his international debut in 1999 at the age of 29 and retained his place for the Euro 2000 tournament held in Belgium. He learnt his trade in lower division football with Lozen, Overpelt and RC Genk winning promotion with the latter in 1996. He moved to Germany with Second Division Arminia Bielefeld in 1998 and again won promotion so leading to his late international entry. The defender returned to Belgium with AA Ghent in 2000 and his consistent form for club and country means he will go to his first World Cup finals at the age of 32. Jacky is not to be confused with Vitesse forward and fellow Red Devil Bob Peeters who missed out on the trip to the Far East due to a foot injury.
