Full name is: Jenílson Angelo de Souza.
Left back Júnior played under Luiz Felipe Scolari at Palmeiras where he won Brazilian Cup and Copa Libertadores honours. This earned a move to Europe in 2000 with Italy's Parma, and he became a firm favourite with the Gialloblu fans.
Junior travelled as the understudy to Robert Carlos in Japan and South Korea World Cup, as he comes from the same mould as the Real Madrid star, and he proved to be a more than able deputy. A strong runner, his powerful shots and pinpoint crosses provide a potent threat when moving forward.
Junior made the most of his World Cup chance when Roberto Carlos was rested for the final Group C game with Costa Rica as he scored his first international goal in a 5-2 win.
