This vastly experienced goalkeeper was Nigeria's first choice for most of their World Cup qualifying games. Although he made his international debut back in 1992 he has rarely featured in the big tournaments with the exception of the 2000 African Nations' Cup when he gained a runners-up medal. At club level he played in domestic football for Stationery Stores, Concorde and Shooting Stars before moving to Europe where he spent three seasons with FC Zurich and another two with Besiktas. Although he featured for the Turkish club in Champions' League action he was without a club from the summer of 2001 until signing for FC Lucerne in March 2002.
