Keen made his only appearance for Newcastle against Derby County in 1930. He must have been impressed the opponents as he joined the Rams two months later and went on to make over 200 appearances for them.
He appeared for Liverpool only as a guest in the war time games of WWII. He also played for Chelmsford City and Bacup Borough.
