The captain of Derby County's Under-19 team in the 1999-2000 campaign, Ian Evatt spent most of 2000-01 developing in the Rams' reserves before making his Premier League debut in the final game against Ipswich Town when he came off the subs' bench to replace Thordur Gudjonsson for the last 15 minutes.
An inspirational defender, he signed a three-year contract in July 2000.
Ian joined Chesterfield in July 2003 on a two-year contract that was extended to June 2007 in August 2004.
He joined Queens Park Rangers in June 2005 with a three-year contract but was made available for transfer in January 2006.
After a loan spell, he joined Blackpool in January 2007 with a contract to June 2008 that was extended to June 2011 in April 2009 and to June 2013 in July 2011.
Ian re-joined Chesterfield in July 2013 with a two-year contract that was extended to June 2016 in July 2015 and to June 2018 in May 2017.
