Clarkson was appointed captain of new boys Kidderminster at the start of last season and featured regularly before losing his place in the closing weeks of the campaign. An experienced right back he had previously retired from the game through injury but a loophole in the regulations allowed him to resume his professional career.
Following the resignation of manager Jan Molby on 28 March 2002, Clarkson was appointed assistant to caretaker boss Clarkson Britton but was released at the end of the season.
