A rising star and protégé of Phillippe Troussier he will be along for the experience. He joined Kashima Antlers in 1998 but could not displace Daijaro Takakuwa from the team and made his debut when he was injured in May 1999 and remained in the team for two months. Despite being a reserve he played for the under 21 and under 23 teams before making his full debut in November 2001 against Italy.
