After scoring on his Arsenal debut he went on to score another eight in the next five games. Broke his leg but continued scoring freely until transferred for £45 to Newton Heath. A prolific goal scorer for Newton Heath. First to top 20 league goals in a season for the club (1897-98). Suspended after going AWOL then transferred to Falkirk for further indiscretions.
