Harry Howell is the cousin of fellow Brighton and Hove Albion player, Jack Hinshelwood.

He was selected on Albion's subs bench for the first time on 12 April 2025 in a Premier League game against Leicester City.

Aged 17 years and 28 days, when coming on as a substitute against Liverpool on 19 May 2025, Harry became the Seagulls' youngest-ever player in the Premier League; previously Evan Ferguson against Burnley on 19 February 2022 (17 years and 122 days).

Ian Chapman retained the club record of being the youngest player in a league game (16 years and 259 days against Birmingham City in League Division Two on 14 February 1987).
