Having spent the 1999-2000 campaign engaged in a battle against relegation from the Belgian Second Division Habib joined Torquay in the close season and became embroiled in their struggle to avoid the drop down to the Conference. He scored a close-range goal for the Gulls in his third outing for the club against Blackpool but then missed some time through injury and shortly after returning to the side he fell out of favour. New manager Colin Lee offered him a second chance but he departed in controversial circumstances following the defeat at Plymouth in April. Habib is a big target man who is strong in the air and lays the ball off well.
Habib has also played for Noisy-le-Sec and Creteil in France.
