Place of birthGlasgow
NationalityScottish
Weight78 kg
Height1.80 m
PositionMidfielder

Connelly began 2000-01 at Southend United but although he featured regularly in the first team squad under Alan Little he moved on to Carlisle soon after David Webb became manager. He quickly found a regular berth on the right side of midfield at Brunton Park and produced some determined displays for the Cumbrian club. He only scored a couple of goals himself but had great satisfaction in setting up United's goal in a 1-1 draw against his former colleagues at Roots Hall in April. He is a busy, hard working player who operates wide on the right-hand side of midfield and is always willing to push forward to help the attack.
