Giovanni Savarese

Savarese previously played for Centro Italiano Venezolano, Deportivo Italia, Long Island Roughriders, New York Metro Stars and New England Revolution. Savarese joined Swansea last October after several season playing in the MLS where his career tally of 41 goals made him one of the leading scorers in the brief history of that competition. He got off to a great start netting seven goals in his first nine games and although he seemed to lose his scoring touch later on he hit a hat-trick in the 5-3 defeat at Luton before finishing up as the club's leading scorer with a respectable total of 13 goals. A striker with a high work rate who is always capable of finding space in the box he is also a Venezuelan international and added a further cap during his stay at the Vetch Field when he appeared in the World Cup qualifying tie against Colombia in April.
