Having been released by Sunderland, Gerry signed for Halifax Town on a one-month contract in August 2000 and scored a cracking goal in the 2-2 draw against Leyton Orient but was released by the Shaymen the following month.
A powerful midfielder known for his penetrating runs, he can also play as a central defender.
