George Eastham's move to Arsenal was one of the major landmark transfers in the history of the game.
A slender figure who could play on either wing, he struck up a notable partnership with Ivor Allchurch during his time with Newcastle United.
The possessor of a magic wand-like left foot, his protracted £45,000 move from the Magpies in 1960 brought down the antiquated 'retain and transfer' system.
George followed his father to win full international caps for England and crowned his career with a League Cup winners' medal at Stoke City in 1972.
He began his career at Ards in Northern Ireland before enjoying loan spells with Cleveland Stokers in USA and Cape Town City and Hellenic in South Africa while with Stoke City.
He ended his career in South Africa with East London United.
