Having begun the 2000-01 campaign as a regular with Scottish Premier League club Motherwell, Ged was transferred to Wigan Athletic in March.
He gave some solid performances for the Second Division club but missed out on the Play-Off semi-finals due to a hamstring injury.
A strong and determined midfielder, he is perhaps best used on the right-hand side from where he is particularly adept at making late surging runs in to the penalty box.
Ged returned to Scotland with Dunfermline Athletic in January 2003 with a loan deal to the end of the season.
