Gary McSheffrey was made available for transfer by Coventry City in April 2003 before his contract was extended to June 2008 in June 2005.
He joined Birmingham City in August 2006 with a four-year contract.
Gary re-joined Coventry City in July 2010 with a one-year contract that was extended to June 2012 in March 2011 and to June 2013 in November 2011.
He joined Chesterfield in September 2013 with a contract to January 2014.
Gary then joined Scunthorpe United with a contract to June 2014 that was then extended to June 2015.
His Iron contract was extended to June 2016 in June 2015.
After a loan spell, he joined Doncaster Rovers in July 2016 with a one-year contract.
Gary joined Grimsby Town in March 2018 with a contract to June 2018.
