As a promising Southampton defender, Garry joined Oxford United on loan in January 2001 to gain further experience of senior football and acquitted himself well in his month at the Manor Ground, despite playing in a struggling team.
Garry subsequently returned to The Dell and was called up to the first-team squad towards the end of the season, appearing in the final two games against Manchester United and Arsenal.
A powerfully built central defender who is strong and very quick, Garry joined Swansea City in July 2004 on a three-year contract.
His Swans deal was extended to June 2014 in August 2011 and to June 2015 in February 2013.
