Garry Brady

Joining Newcastle after a contract dispute at Tottenham, Garry was unable to establish a regular place at St James Park under Ruud Gullit.

Garry joined Norwich City on loan where he impressed with his awareness and passing skills before returning north. In February he went to Portsmouth in another loan deal making a promising debut against Burnley at Fratton Park under the new management of Graham Rix. His footwork and accurate distribution were a pleasure to watch over his first few games but as the threat of relegation loomed he was left out of the side. A hard-working midfield player he eventually joined Pompey on a permanent basis in March 2001.
