Having broken into the Nottingham Forest first team in 1999-2000, Gareth spent most of 2000-01 continuing his development in the club's reserves, although he enjoyed a decent run of senior action from November to the turn of the year.
A promising young midfield player, he is composed on the ball, passes accurately and has a high work rate.
Gareth joined Leicester City in July 2004 with a three-year contract.
He joined Watford in January 2007 with a contract to June 2009.
