Having previously only appeared as a substitute, Gareth made his first start for Cheltenham Town against Chesterfield in September 2000 but was mostly restricted to reserve-team football in 2000-01.
In March, he went out on loan to Dr Martens League club Cinderford Town to gain further experience and he was rewarded with a one-year extension to his contract in the summer.
He is a tall and powerful striker with good pace.
