Evans stepped up to make his senior debut for Leeds United during the club's early-season injury crisis when he came off the substitutes' bench for the final 15 minutes of the Champions' League qualifier at Munich 1860. He followed this up two weeks later when coming on after 58 minutes to make his Premiership debut against Manchester City and later featured on the bench in the Champions' League games, but his domestic appearances were otherwise restricted to the club's reserve team. This local-born left back played in the same school side as his Leeds United colleague Alan Smith.
Evans's contract at Blackpool was extended to June 2006 in May 2005 but he was forced to retire in February 2006 due to a knee injury.
