Born in Argentina his inclusion in the squad has caused some disquiet in the squad. He began his career at his local team in Argentina for Central Rosary where he made his debut in 1995. He moved to Newells Old Boys before moving to Chile to play for Antafogasta. He moved to Mexico and signed for the Santos Laguna for the winter league in 1996 before joining present club Pachuca in the winter of 1998. He had not played international football for Argentina and was granted Mexican citizenship in 2001. He made his international debut in March 2002 against Albania and has made the squad despite not playing in qualification.
