Sears's contract at West Ham United was extended to June 2010 in March 2008 and to June 2012 in November 2008.
After a loan spell, he joined Colchester United in July 2012 with a three-year contract.
Sears joined Ipswich Town in January 2015 with a contract to June 2017 that was extended to June 2019 in August 2015.
